On the morning of Saturday, March 16th, Alissa came into our room while we were sleeping and said, "Wake up, it's time to go visit the Easter Bunny." Of course we required Alissa to eat Breakfast first and we had to get dressed for the day as well. But, Alissa proceeded to talk about the Easter Bunny all morning and she explained that we were going to see the "Daddy Easter Bunny". Alissa further explained that the "Mommy Easter Bunny" was not there this year so we were going to see the "Daddy." Of course, I wasn't sure what she meant by "Daddy Bunny" at first, but when Alissa reminded me of our visit to the Easter Bunny last year, I remembered that it was definitely a FEMALE bunny. It always amazes me how smart and observant little kids are as I never really think about the details that kids focus on. This year, when Alissa saw the Easter Bunny, he was clearly a MALE bunny so she figured it out in her own mind that there must be a "Daddy Bunny" and a "Mommy Bunny." The insight of a child is so amazing.

We love our little girl so much. It's so fun to enjoy the holidays with such a new and refreshing perspective. I have to admit that before Alissa came into my life, I had begun to lose the joy of holidays and even the joy in life. Alissa has reminded me that the little things in life can be as equally important as the big things.
