Santa Talks To Alissa

This is a video chat between Santa and Alissa. Please notice that when Santa opens his special book, there is a picture of mommy and Alissa with Santa Clause. Because Santa is always watching, he knows that Alissa is learning to brush her teeth each night before bedtime. This is so fun. :)

December 17, 2010 - Visiting Santa and His Reindeer

Mommy took Alissa to see Santa on Friday, December 17, 2010. At first, we sat by Santa together and Alissa was fine with it. But, after the first few pictures, Mommy asked Alissa to tell Santa what she wants for Christmas. As soon as Alissa looked at Santa's face, she started to cry.
"Who was this big scary looking man?" Little Alissa did not want to stick around any longer to find out.
So, Mommy decided to take Alissa to see Santa's Reindeer. Alissa loves looking at animals and Mommy decided to take a picture. After the picture, Mommy realized that she didn't get a picture of just Alissa with Santa Clause. Unfortunately, Alissa didn't like the idea. Mommy took a quick picture anyway and we left right after. Merry Christmas Everyone!

11-23-10 Little Mommy and Baby

Grandma Diamond purchased this adorable dress with matching doll for Alissa. Mommy couldn't resist taking a picture. Isn't our little mommy and her baby doll adorable?

Halloween Bliss - 3 Days of Halloween

What a fun filled weekend of costumes and candy. We started off the weekend at a Trunk or Treat Party at Grandma and Grandpa Diamond's ward. They served Spaghetti for dinner and had trick or treating in the parking lot afterward. It was a beautiful warm night and Alissa enjoyed herself very much. I didn't expect Alissa to start eating the candy (wrapper and all), but she did. I guess we have a little sweet tooth on our hands.

On Saturday, we took Alissa to our own ward Trunk or Treat party. Here is Alissa in her Fairy costume. I also have pictures of her with mommy and daddy and our home teachers family (Scott Mars). It was very funny that everyone either dressed up as a Star Wars Character or a Fairy. Alissa and Scotts wife were fairies while Steve, Scott's two kids, and I were dressed up as Star Wars.

After the Trunk or Treat, were were off to visit both sets of grandparents and then went Trick or Treating with Grandpa Smith. Alissa loved Trick or Treating, but her favorite part was walking around with a sucker in each hand like she owned the world. What a fun little girl we have.

Trick or Treating with the Chilean Miners and the Madhatter was quite a treat also. I loved these costumes worn by Steve's brother, his wife Satoko, and son Mako.

Sunday was actually Halloween although it seemed that most people chose not to celebrate that day. However, mommy wanted another picture with her Fairy so Alissa dressed up for the third day in a row.  Because Alissa's cousin Mykin had a birthday on October 27th, we were invited for pie to celebrate on Sunday. So, Alissa dressed up in her fairy costume for the visit with Mykin's family. Since Tinkerbell is Mykins favorite Disney character, Mykin quickly approved of our little fairy's Halloween costume.

September/October 2010 - Ballerina Princess

This is Alissa's Halloween costume for this year. Isn't she so cute?

Summer Fun - August 14, 2010

The summer has been filled with holidays, swimming, raspberries, family and friends. The first holiday of the summer was the 4th of July, which fell on a Sunday. So, we started out by celebrating on Saturday, July 3rd. We went to our traditional Lion's Club breakfast, but didn't have our normal companions since Steve's family was all out of town, except Jake. So, we invited Jake along. While we don't traditionally go the carnival after breakfast, we decided that Alissa might enjoy some fishing. So daddy helped her out at the fishing booth where she won the notorious "Zebra Duck". Yes, it's a bathtub squirt toy that looks like part Zebra and part Duck.
We finished off Saturday at dinner with the neighbors. We have made great friends with the neighbors that live right next door on both sides of us plus the neighbor two houses down. This is a picture of everyone at dinner. From left to right, we have Moses, Don, and Connie; Steve and Alissa; Barbara and Robert; Dawn and Vern.
We spend the actual 4th of July at the Annual Berry & Burns BBQ, but we neglected to take any pictures of that event. We ended our fabulous weekend at Hogle Zoo with Gayle and Ian Burns.

On July 22, Alissa and Kim spent the day with Alison and her family. Alison took this fabulous picture of Alissa on Elfriede's bed spread because Alissa's outfit matched the bed spread so wonderfully. We also enjoyed swimming in the kiddie pool with Victoria and Timothy.

On the 24th of July, we went to the parade with Steve's family. At the parade, Alissa was a huge flirt and enjoyed sitting in random chairs nearby. Each time we tried to stop Alissa from sitting in a strangers chair, the stranger would say, "Oh, she is so cute, please let her sit there. It was so funny. Later that evening, we enjoyed a BBQ and swimming at Jeremy and Meggans condo.

The weenend of August 5 through August 9th was our annual "Diederich Family Reunion" at Bear Lake during the Raspberry Days celebrations. It was a fun filled weekend with boating, family, and games. I have posted some pictures of Alissa, Heber, and Rosemary in their life jackets on the boat. I have also posted a few pictures of the family reunion.

Alissa's First Haircut

July 2, 2010
Alissa and I had the most wonderful Mother/Daughter day today. Alissa got her first haircut and I made sure to take lots of pictures. My hairdresser, Scott, was so amazed how happy Alissa was. He says that all baby's cry during their first haircut, but Alissa did not shed one tear. She was so happy. She loved sitting on the chair, spinning around on the chair, and being the center of attention during this great "first" event. I had so much fun, that I was not ready for the haircut to be over.

After Alissa's haircut, I had to stop by the grocery store to pick up a prescripton for Steve. Unfortunately, we were told to wait 20 minutes before the prescription would be ready. Since I was not ready to end my fun with Alissa, I decided to grab one of the "Kids carts" to see if Alissa would enjoy pushing it. Sure enough, she took off with the cart and ended up pushing it from one end of the store to the other. What an enjoyable experience. :)
