Let's Go Fly A Kite

Grandma and Grandpa D. gave Alissa a kite for Valentines day. She has been begging us to let her fly it ever since. Steve and I finally gave in and took her to the park. We thought there was plenty of wind, but apparently not. We couldn't keep the kite in the sky for very long. The important thing was that we all had fun trying. Here are some pictures of our fun day.

Mommy also took a few turns running with and flying the kite, but we didn't get any pictures of that.

Presidents Day 2014 - Bowling

I like to take advantage of the holidays and do something fun with Alissa. Therefore, I thought of something she had never done before; BOWLING! I invited Ian to come along and he was so cute with Alissa. Their relationship reminds me of a brother and sister. Sometimes they fight, but other times, Ian is very protective of Alissa and he watches over her. In these pictures you will see his brotherly love for Alissa. He hands her the ball each time it's her turn. He helps her while she is throwing the ball. He shows his support by hugging her or giving her high fives. I just love that Alissa has someone in her life that is so much like a big brother to her.

Valentines Day 2014

Alissa made this Valentine for Mommy and Daddy at Preschool this week. Once it was done, she folded it up like an envelope and told us we couldn't open it until Valentines Day. Isn't it cute?
Alissa's playgroup was at our house today so we decided to have a valentines party. We made valentines, decorated boxes, frosted cupcakes, and exchanged valentines. I forgot to take pictures of the kids working on these projects, but they had a blast.

Mommy woke up this morning and found these flowers sitting on the counter for her. Daddy had purchased them earlier in the week and hid them from mommy. Alissa knew about it for three days and successfully kept this secret. What a nice surprise for mommy.
Mommy and Daddy purchased this cute valentine book and stickers for Alissa for Valentines Day. She was excited to have a new bedtime story.
Then, Alissa and mommy purchased this Dr. Who T-Shirt and Sonic Screwdriver for daddy for Valentines day. We also made daddy a Ribeye Steak Dinner with Asparagus and noodles. Unfortunately, daddy came home from work sick. He still enjoyed his delicious dinner, but then went to bed for the rest of the evening and night. He had a temperature of 101, but managed to keep down his dinner. However, he looked awful so we didn't take pictures of daddy with his present and dinner.

Alissa had so much fun frosting cupcakes at her party on Friday, that we made some more on Sunday to take to Grandma and Grandpa S. We already delivered some cupcakes to Alissa's Gymnastics class on Friday. We also delivered cupcakes to Grandma and Grandpa D. and Alissa's cousins Heber, Rose, and Mako on Valentines Day. Our day was so busy and we ran out of cupcakes so we were unable to take some to Grandma and Grandpa S. until Sunday.
Both sets of grandparents had valentines gifts for Alissa that she didn't receive until Sunday, February 16, 2014. Here is a picture of Alissa with both sets of grandparents.

Superbowl Party 2014

My friend Michele throws a Superbowl party at her house every year. It's tradition to feed the snake during half time. This year, he didn't want to eat the guinea pig they tried to feed him. I was glad because the guinea pig was so cute. Here is a fun collage I made.
