Christmas 2013

Christmas is always a crazy and exhausting day because we wake up and open presents at home. Then we go to Steve's parents for breakfast and gifts. Then we go to Kim's parents for lunch and gifts. Then we go to the Tyndall's for Dinner and gifts. It's a non-stop stay that starts as early as 7:30 a.m. and ends as late as 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. Here are some pictures of our fun, but exhausting day.

Alissa opening her gifts at home Christmas Morning. These gifts are
all from Santa Clause. I can tell because Santa wrapped his gifts
in a different kind of paper than mommy and daddy.
Alissa helped Kitara open her gift. Alissa picked it out.
Here is Alissa with all her gifts including the ones from mommy and
daddy. The clothes were all from mommy and daddy.
Daddy opening his Dr. Who Yahtzee that Mommy and Alissa picked
out for dad. We got him a Dr. Who Shirt, Star Wars Ornaments,
a Dr. Who Sonic Screwdriver, and some U2 books and DVD..
Alissa wearing her new Doc McStuffins outfit
with slippers and stethoscope.
When we drove to Steve's parents house, Alissa insisted on
wearing her new Scooby Doo Hat and bringing her
Doc Mobile (wagon), Dr. Bag, and Doc McStuffins doll.
Wow, a new Doc McStuffins Clinic from Grandma & Grandpa S. The x-ray machine has several slides and it lights up and talks; the pages turn on the Big Book of Booboo's  and it talks too, the tools all come off their hooks; and there is a scale, measuring chart, storage cabinets, and a sink.
Lambie is from Uncle Jake and Stuffy (dragon)
is from Grandma & Grandpa S.
Mako is helping Alissa do a check-up on Lambie
Vash stayed busy with his new xylophone
Aunt Meggan, Uncle Jeremy, and cousin Vash gave Alissa
this new Doc McStuffins shirt, leopard print pants and hair clips.
Aunt Satoko, Uncle Jason, and cousin Mako gave Alissa
this Mini Mouse Book & Japanese Shoes
Steve got a fantastic Star Wars shirt from
Japan (from Satoko & Jason)
Mommy got a new printer that Alissa helped her open

Grandma & Grandpa D. gave Alissa this fantastic Hello Kitty Doll
Mommy (Kim) made this tutu for Adelyn and found a cute ballet

Christmas Eve 2013

On Christmas Eve, Daddy decided to make snowmen with Alissa. Mommy gathered together some scarves, hats, and items to make the face. We had a great time.

12-21-13 Family Christmas Party

Tonight was our D. family Christmas party at our house. We started out with dinner that included soup, salad, rolls, and homemade apple strudel (a German family recipe made by me).
Mykin, Jon, Mike, Marie, Heber
Me (Kim), Steve, Natalie, Liz, Dick
After dinner, we moved downstairs for the Christmas program:
Alex, Dick, Liz, Zach, Mykin, Adelyn, Heber, Marie, Mike, and Jon
Marie read the nativity story and brought costumes for the family to act it out:
Josh (wiseman), Alissa (angel), Rose (angel), Heber (shepherd),
Jon (Joseph), Adelyn (Jesus), and Mykin (Mary)
Dick brought his guitar and sang a song for everyone. He has such a beautiful voice. I miss hearing it all the time. As a child, I use to spend hours listening to Dick sing.
Wayne, Robbie, Natalie, Brooke, Mike, Grandma
Heber, Alissa and Rose opened their presents from Grandma and Grandpa
Most of the family left at this point, but Grandma, Grandpa, Heber, Rose, Mike, and Marie stayed to make homemade Rice Krispy treat houses. We had a wonderful time making them.
