Halloween Day! Wow, I'm tired!

Today, was a very long, but fulfilling day. I volunteered in Alissa's Kindergarten classroom for her Halloween Party. I was able to watch the Halloween parade first, help with school work, and then end Alissa's school day with activities and Halloween fun. After school, I took Alissa to visit her daycare, my work, and grandma and grandpa D's house. Grandma and Grandpa D then took Alissa and I to lunch. After lunch, we picked up Ariana from school and brought her to our house for some fun, see below for more details. After that, we went to grandma and grandpa S.'s house for dinner, trick or treating, and more Halloween fun. Here are some pictures:
Abby, Katelyn, Ian, and Alissa
(Alissa met these two girls at daycare because
their mother use to work there)

Ian (Mobster) walking in the school parade (I took him to get this costume)
During Alissa's school party, there were four activities for the kids to participate in. The kids rotated to each station in groups of 5-6 kids at a time. It was so much fun. The activity that I brought included crafting pumpkins, stickers and/or felt pieces to decorate with. Below is a picture of one of the kids holding up the pumpkin that he made.
Below is some additional pumpkins that Alissa and I made. She made the pumpkin on the far right during her school party. The stickers on that pumpkin glow in the dark. The rest of the pumpkins were left over from her party so we decided to decorate them.
One set of parents (mom and dad) brought in these rubber gloves that the kids filled with candy corn for the fingernails, popcorn for the skin, and spider rings. Isn't this a cute idea?
Here is a close up of the hand Alissa made
The kids also played a few spider web games to include "pin the spider on the web" and crawling under a "spider web ropes course" (see the black ropes to the right)
Finally, kids were asked to partner up with each other so one could wrap the other in white streamers to make mummies. Here is Alissa as a mummy...

After school, Alissa and I showed off our costumers to her daycare, my work, and one set of grandparents, who took us to lunch. After lunch with grandma and grandpa D, Alissa and I picked up Ariana from daycare and brought her to our house. Alissa and I helped Ariana to make her own popcorn hand and then the two girls helped me decorate my trunk, for our ward trunk or treat party, with pumpkins and Halloween decorations. Below is a picture of my trunk. The girls had a wonderful time at the party as they each ended up with full buckets of candy, soda pop, and chips (yes, one car was distributing soda pop and chips based on how kids scored on some games).
After the trunk or treat party, Ariana's mom picked her up and Alissa and I met daddy at home. The three of us then drove together to grandma and grandpa S.'s house where we finished off the evening.

Our cute little family with Steve as Sven the reindeer, me as Anna, and Alissa as Elsa
If your wondering why Sven is wearing gold chains and holding a sugar daddy cane, it's because we posted some pics of this costume on facebook and received a few comments about the fact that Steve resembled a "pimp". So, to play along with the hype, he decided to add some accessories to his costume. Here is a full shot of Steve:

More Halloween Fun

Alissa and I were invited to attend a Trunk or Treat with Brook and Ariana. This one started with the actual trunk or treat, but Alissa missed that. Next was dinner and a carnival, which was much funner that the same old candy collecting. Alissa enjoyed fishing, playing carnival games, and hanging out with all the kids. She ended up with tons of prizes to include spider rings, rubber fingers with red fingernails, vampire teeth, halloween trinkets, and bracelets. The hardest part of the night was convincing Ariana and Alissa that it was time to go home and do their homework. So fun:

The next two pictures are of me showing off the new Anna wig that I just received in the mail. I ordered this on September 27th and was very disappointed that it wasn't scheduled to be delivered until November 12, 2014. I called the company to return it and they told me, "It may arrive before Halloween. If it doesn't, you may refuse the package and we will return your money". Well, to my pleasant surprise, I receive it on Steve's birthday, October 28, 2014. Yippee!
Here is the back of the wig.

A Day Full Of Halloween Fun

We spent the day at a local farm with Alissa's friends Ian and Ariana. Here is a picture of Ariana, Ian and Alissa welcoming people to the farm.

Trunk or Treat

One of my favorite Halloween traditions since Alissa was born was going to my parents Trunk or Treat party each year. This year, Alissa wanted to be Elsa from the Disney movie "Frozen". So, I decided to be Anna (Elsa's sister) and Steve decided to be Sven, the reindeer. Here is a picture of my family at the Trunk or Treat Party. It was very fun.

School Fun Run

Alissa's elementary school has two big fundraisers each year. The first one was held today, October 10, 2014. I took the day off work to take pictures all day. I volunteered for the PTA since they didn't have anyone who could take pictures for the morning races. The afternoon races were for grades 1-6 so they had too many kids for one photographer. Here are some pics of Alissa and her class during the morning races.

GO!

Each kid was provided a water and an apple after the race
I brought a string cheese for Alissa as a snack after
Here is Alissa eating her apple and showing off her ribbon. All the Kindergarten kids got a ribbon. But, Alissa did not place. The top three girls and top three boys all received recognition for placing. I was proud of Alissa though as she finished the race ahead of many other kids. My only expectation was for her to finish the race and not give up, which she did. That's the most important thing in my opinion.
Here is Alissa with her daycare friends. The boy next to Alissa is the fastest runner in Kindergarten. He placed first during the race. I was very proud of him. I got pictures of him crossing the finish line way ahead of the other kids.
