2013 Salt Lake Comic Con

This year was the first ever Salt Lake City Comic Con. Steve and I purchased our tickets over one month ago so we would be sure to get some. I'm so glad we did since they sold out of tickets fairly quickly. The first day of Comic Con had around 30,000 people show up. The second day was closer to $40,000. The third day exceeded 75,000 people. Amazing turnout for a first event ever in Salt Lake City. Utah has now qualified for the National Circuit of events like this. They also signed a contract for the next six years. SO MUCH FUN. Here are the highlights of our three days:

We saw David Prowse (Darth Vader) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) speak
We saw Lou Ferrigno (Incredible Hulk) speak
We saw John De Lancie (Q from Star Trek) speak
I met three stars from my favorite TV Series of all time called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This first picture is me with Nicholas Brendon, who played Xander, one of the three main characters. Buffy went on for seven seasons and I watched every single episode. We own the box sets too.
This picture is of me with Clare Kramer. She was super nice. She complemented my pink shirt and said it was a good color on me. She played a villain named Glory on the last season of Buffy.
This is a picture of Camden Toy and I. He played a villain in one of the most famous episodes of Buffy called "HUSH". The episode received it's name because it was filmed in complete silence. These evil demons called "The Gentlemen (pictured with a white face and nasty teeth)" removed the voices from all the children around town so when they killed them, the children would not scream. It was the scariest episode I saw of all seven seasons. This man even did the evil grin for me and it creeped me out. What a nice person in real life though.

Some of Steve's favorite childhood hero's: Richard Hatch (Apollo) and Dirk Benedict (Starbuck) from the TV series Battlestar Galactica. Richard also appeared in the remake of Battlestar Galactica as well.
An interview with Dean Cain (Superman) from the TV Series Lois and Clark
Will Shatner (Captain Kirk) and Adam West (Batman); otherwise known as SHAT & THE BAT
Steve speaking with Richard Hatch (Apollo), his childhood hero. Steve shook his hand too, but I was unable to get a picture. It happened too fast.
Stan Lee, the creator of all Marvel Comic Book Characters. What an amazing man. We LOVED seeing him speak. He has such a great sense of humor. Does he look 90 years old to you?
Here are some of the fun costumes we saw
Optimus Prime (yes, there is a person in this costume). He required two friends to help him walk. The each took a leg and lifted it up as he walked. This costume took him two solid days to make.

Our friend made this Harlequin costume for her daughter. Isn't this amazing? Loved hanging out with them each day. What a great kid.
Another version of Harlequin and the JOKER (creepy)
Han Solo and his home made robot. Isn't this great?
Battlestar Galatica costumes. This women made her jacket out of leather. She let me put it on. She also got it signed by Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch.
